La tesi tratta le indicazioni, le metodiche e le complicanze dell'Open Abdomen. Include anche l'esperienza della U.O. di Chirurgia d'Urgenza su 235 casi.


Laparostomy or Open Abdomen is an abdominal wall defect created by intentionally leaving an abdominal incision open at the completion of intraabdominal surgery or by opening (or re-opening) the abdomen because of concern for abdominal compartment syndrome.

Indications:
• Abdominal polytrauma
• Severe abdominal sepsis
• A.C.S. (Abdominal Compartment Syndrome)
Tipology of T.A.C. (Temporary abdominal closure):
• Skin only Closure
• Bogotà Bag
• Mesh Closure
• Vacuum Pack
• V.A.C. Therapy
Tipology of D.A.C. /Definitive abdominal closure) can be realized in theese ways:
• Primary Fascial Closure
• Functional Closure with Mesh
• C.S.T.
Complications:
• Enteroatmospheric Fistula
• Abscess
• Dehiscence of the wound
• Ventral Hernia
• Abdominal Compartement Syndrome
