Summary
In this study, the technical feasibility of an antenna connection of a large renewable energy production pole (RES+CSP plants) in an isolated area was investigated. Due to environmental factors such as the location of the resource and the conformation of the territory, the production island required a new connection. In the short to medium term, an aerial connection was planned, while for the long term a further connection was added to about half of the line in an attempt to interconnect it. The HVAC technology was chosen with two three-phase backbones at a voltage of 400 kV. Series capacitors controlled by thyristors have been foreseen in order to give certain flexibility to the transmission line.
