Summary
The purpose of this study is to perform an integrated numerical thermo-fluid dynamic analysis of the ITER Cryostat Space Room (CSR) to determine an accurate temperature distribution of the Cryostat (Cr) and Bioshield walls, in normal operation conditions.
Furthermore, the activity serves to provide a more realistic input for the assessment of the:
• Heat loads on Cryostat Thermal Shield (CTS)
• Heat loads on Magnet Gravity Supports (MGS)
• Heat loads on Cryostat Base
• Load conditions for the Cr to building interfaces, e.g., bellows flange support plates.
Furthermore, the activity serves to provide a more realistic input for the assessment of the:
