Abstract (Inglese)
Abstract (Italiano)
The .NET Micro Framework 3.0 port for an LPC2478 based board is extended and its performance and fitness for software integration is evaluated. To this end an MP3 player application, fit for demonstration purposes, is created.
We show that: the Framework is fit for running on the LPC2478, but its performance is limited by lack of an instruction cache and constrained on-chip memory. LPC3XXX would be a better choice.
Performance-critical software might need tailored builds of the firmware, but current Microsoft license policies limit this.
Parts of the Class Library (e.g. WPF) need further optimization to be usable on the LPC2478.
