Lo scopo di questa tesi è quello di dare una visione panoramica della cybersecurity, dalle nozioni basilari ai nuovi metodi di attacco hacker attraverso il Social Engineering. Sono state analizzate le truffe di Business Email Compromise e i metodi adottati per prevenirle. Riuscire ad implementare una resistenza d’ufficio, con programmi ad hoc e personale addestrato è una delle sfide della cybersecurity per portare le aziende verso la cyber resilienza. Successivamente, sono state descritte le forme di partenariato pubblico-privato e le strategie di sicurezza nazionale adottate in Europa e in particolare in Austria e Germania, patrie rispettivamente delle due società: FACC e LEONI, entrambe vittime di truffe di BEC. I due casi studio sono stati oggetto di un confronto.


The purpose of this thesis is to give an overview of cybersecurity, from basic notions to new methods of hacker attack through Social Engineering. The scams of Business Email Compromise and the methods adopted to prevent them were analyzed. Implementing office resistance, with ad hoc programs and trained staff, is one of the challenges of cybersecurity to bring companies to cyber resilience. Subsequently, the forms of public-private partnership and the national security strategies adopted in Europe and in particular in Austria and Germany, the respective homelands of the two companies: FACC and LEONI, both victims of BEC scams, were described. The two case studies were compared.
