Summary
The gold standard examination for the diagnosis of postoperative recurrence of Crohn's disease is the endoscopic examination that uses the Rutgeerts score. However, this is an invasive, expensive procedure that is poorly tolerated by patients; on the other hand, the ultrasound examination is an economical, non-invasive test that is therefore better tolerated and assesses the degree of postoperative recurrence using the Limberg score. The aim of the study was to analyze the correlation between the endoscopic examination and the ultrasound examination in patients with Crohn's disease undergoing ileocolic resection, in order to identify the reliability of ultrasound as a monitoring tool for recurrence.
