Summary
Vico Pancellorum (LU), a quite secluded village in northern Tuscany, is a place rich in traditions. One, in particular, attracts the linguist: the so-called "arivaresco" jargon, used by the local tinsmiths and handed down from father to son along with the profession. The thesis proposes the results of a collection of lexical and grammatical data obtained through field surveys and their subsequent description. Then, the dissertation ends with analysis and lexical comparisons with other Italian jargons and with languages that show a bond with the collected words.
