Vico Pancellorum (LU), paese piuttosto isolato dell'alta Toscana, è un luogo ricco di tradizioni. Una, in particolare, attrae il linguista: il gergo cosiddetto “arivaresco”, utilizzato dagli stagnini originari del posto e tramandato di padre in figlio assieme al mestiere. L'elaborato propone i risultati di una raccolta di dati lessicali e grammaticali ottenuti tramite indagini sul campo e la loro successiva descrizione. Seguono analisi e confronti lessicali con altri gerghi italiani e con lingue che abbiano presentato affinità con i vocaboli raccolti.


Vico Pancellorum (LU), a quite secluded village in northern Tuscany, is a place rich in traditions. One, in particular, attracts the linguist: the so-called "arivaresco" jargon, used by the local tinsmiths and handed down from father to son along with the profession. The thesis proposes the results of a collection of lexical and grammatical data obtained through field surveys and their subsequent description. Then, the dissertation ends with analysis and lexical comparisons with other Italian jargons and with languages ​​that show a bond with the collected words.
