The following study bases on the previous literatures and continues the research of corporate social performance (CSP), focusing on Russian companies from oil and gas industry. The conducted study develops the concept of CSP index, its social and environmental pillars, and provides the analysis of CSP for corporations from 6 developing countries, including Russia, for the period from 2008 to 2016. Focusing on the environmental pillar of CSP index, the study provides the research on 7 Russian companies of gas and oil industry for the year of 2015 with comparison analysis of the two methodologies for CSP estimating, processed with the ASSET4 database and developed by Russian National Rating Agency.
