Summary
The objective of this thesis is to construct a finite element model for evaluating the biomechanical risks associated with reverse shoulder replacement procedures. Using CT scans from a donor, a finite element model of the shoulder incorporating a reverse implant was developed. Through a series of simulations, wherein joint reaction force directions were systematically manipulated, a range of risk maps were generated to pinpoint activities posing the highest risk of failure. Furthermore, the impact of alternative surgical techniques on the risk profile was assessed by implanting the same bone using varied methodologies, thereby shedding light on potential variations in failure risk.
