Il mio lavoro di tesi consiste nella valutazione dell'efficiacia clinica dell'impiego di macitentan e selexipag in off-label nei pazienti affetti da Sclerosi Sistemica con ulcere digitali. Lo studio retrospettivo condotto ha coinvolto circa 90 pazienti in trattamento all'AOUP dipartimento di Reumatologia di Pisa e Fondazione Monasterio CNR di Pisa, mettendo in evidenza l'efficacia dei due farmaci in pazienti con e senza ulcere digitali all'inizio del trattamento, storia di ulcere digitali ed ipertensione polmonare (PAH) in comorbidità, conferendo risultati di rilevanza nella pratica clinica.
My thesis work focuses on evaluating the clinical efficacy of off-label use of macitentan and selexipag in patients affected by Systemic Sclerosis with digital ulcers. The retrospective study involved approximately 90 patients, treated at the AOUP Department of Rheumatology of Pisa and the Monasterio Foundation, CNR in Pisa. The study highlighted the effectiveness of both drugs in patients with and without digital ulcers at the beginning of treatment, as well as in those with a history of digital ulcers and comorbid pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), yielding clinically relevant results.
