Summary
The purpose of this work is to design a full custom voltage reference circuit. This circuit will be used in a more complex circuit that consists in a pixel sensors, used for X-ray imager.
A previous version of the same circuit in 0.18 µm is improved, in order to realize it in a 65 nm technology. Starting from the old version, some modifications are done with the aim to achieve precise
specifications, imposed by the whole project.
The work includes an introductory survey on these types of circuit, a comparison between recent topologies and the design of the proposed circuit, illustrating the principle of operation, and the
transistor-level and layout-level descriptions.
The final result is a compact cell (14 micron x 12 micron ) which has been fully validated by means of DRC, LVS checks and postlayout simulations.
