Abstract (Inglese)
Abstract (Italiano)
The thesis focuses on the analysis of the role of the horse, first in the Indo-Iranic context and then conjugated in Zoroastrianism, particularly Central Asian Zoroastrianism. Through the analysis of iconology and iconography, the thesis aims to compare different areas of interest, including Central Asia, China and Vedic India. The thesis concludes with a focus on the case study of the Southern Wall of Room 23 in Afrasiyab, attempting to propose a sacrificial interpretation of the depicted procession.
