Summary
La tesi intende analizzare con più precisione alcuni punti essenziali delle vicende professionali del pittore calabrese Pietro Barillà (Taurianova, RC, 1887 - 1953) e più in particolare, alcuni ritratti femminili della sua produzione. Questi rimandano a importanti aspetti culturali e sociali del mondo femminile calabrese. Attraverso lo studio di fonti d'archivio, è stato possibile scoprire sull'attività dell'artista e sulla produzione da me studiata, nuovi elementi sui quali, le mie ricerche sono e saranno ancora focalizzate.
The thesis intends to analyze with more precision some essential points of the professional life of the Calabrian painter Pietro Barillà (Taurianova, RC, 1887 - 1953) and more specifically, some female portraits of his production. These refer to important cultural and social aspects of the Calabrian female world. Through the study of archival sources, it was possible to discover new elements on the artist's activity and on the production I studied, on which my research is and will continue to be focused.
