Le Locutiones in Heptateuchum (419) costituiscono una delle opere meno studiate di Agostino, pur essendo un'importante testimonianza del rapporto tra esegesi pagana e cristiana. La prima parte della tesi è costituita da un'introduzione, in cui sono oggetto di riflessione l'iniziazione biblica di Agostino, l'evoluzione della sua attività esegetica, la riflessione sulle traduzioni bibliche anche in rapporto alla coeva attività di Gerolamo. Dopo una presentazione delle Locutiones sono affrontati problemi legati al genere letterario, alla tradizione manoscritta, al rapporto con i commentatori pagani. La seconda parte è costituita da testo, traduzione italiana e commento ai sette libri dell'opera.


Locutiones in Heptateuchum (419) is one of Augustine's least studied works, despite being an important testimony to the connection between pagan and Christian exegesis. The first part of the thesis consists of an introduction: the reflection focuses on Augustine's biblical initiation, the evolution of his exegetical activity, and his thoughts on biblical translations, also in relation to the contemporary work of Jerome. After an introduction to the Locutiones, issues related to the literary genre, the manuscript tradition, and the relationship with pagan commentators are addressed. The second part consists of the text, an Italian translation, and the commentary on the seven books of the work.
