Summary
This thesis shows the results obtained by the work done during the internship in the Prysmian Group’s plant in Leghorn. The solutions identified are intended to reduce the delivery time for the customer and make it more reliable. The study started from the analysis of the process of management of the orders, in order to identify the activities involved and the extent to which they impact on the progress of the process. The subsequent analysis focused on the activities of the procurement process, examined using scalable and replicable methodologies. The investigation has allowed to determine the current level of process performance and to highlight the causes that contribute to generating high supply times. The results obtained were used to identify the areas on which priority actions should be taken in order to meet the level of service required by the end customer. New operating procedures have been produced for each area, based on appropriate parameters, which have allowed to improve supply management and eliminate non-value added activities.
