Riassunto
The present thesis project has been developed with the cooperation of Moxoff, spinoff of the Laboratory Mox of the Milan Polytechnic. In collaboration with Italian National Men’s Volleyball, Moxoff carried out some investigations in order to optimize the performance of athletes. The present thesis project analyses the Jump Float Serve by means of 3D approach, different from 2D analysis carried out by Moxoff. One of the aim of the project was to manage the research without wide modifications at current set up, using the already existing hardware. Specifically two cameras, orthogonal to each other, were used to capture 23 different jump serves of the same athlete. After the necessary steps requested to obtain a 3D representation of points of interest starting from data made available through videos, it was possible to perform preliminar investigations both of athlete’s movements and of the behaviour of the ball during the serve. Basing on practical evaluations, to follow the interest points it was performed a markerless motion capture approach. Part of informations were obtained thanks the software Captury Studio, a markerless motion capture system. The remainder of the analysis has been carried out with Matlab.
