Riassunto
This thesis is part of the research activities carried out at Dipartimento di Ingegneria Civile ed Industriale for the development of the landing roll-out simulator of a light jet aircraft. The main objective of the simulator is to assess the feasibility of implementing automatic control functions for the directional control of the aircraft through the combined use of standard commands (steering and rudder) with hydraulic differential brakes. An adequate modeling of landing gears and brake dynamics is an important issue for the analysis of the behavior of an aircraft during ground maneuvers, as potentially unstable phenomenon such as gear walk may occur in this phase. In the first part, the present work is focused on a more realistic simulation of main landing gears dynamic, that is modeled considering the real geometry and kinematics. The effects are evaluated with nonlinear analyses in Simulink, that shows improvements in aircraft performance and directional stability. In the second part a Slip Ratio Control is realized by taking into account the main landing gear walk dynamic. The anti-skid control is designed to prevent instability of main landing gear vibration during the braking phase.
