Riassunto
Brake disks made of composite material (disks CCM) have some advantages in comparison with disks made of metal material. Life of them is dependent on their type of use (reached degree of temperature) and the reaching of wear’s limit manifests itself with origin of a crack and with consequent disk’s break. The aim of this thesis is to define an algorithm that, installed on the car, is able to provide a reliable evaluation of the wear’s condition of brake disks during all their use and to determine the ignition of a warning light when their replacement is necessary. The tie of feasibility in this work has required to use only informations available in the car without adding other sensors. Then tests are made on the road and on the track to verify reliability of the estimated wear by algorithm.
