Scopo dello studio è stato quello di valutare le caratteristiche lesioni da morso di cinghiale a carico delle varie regioni anatomiche, il periodo in cui si hanno più cani feriti e se il tempo atmosferico può influire sul numero delle ferite. In questo modo è stato possibile individuare il periodo e le situazioni ambientali in cui il veterinario deve stare prestare più attenzione ed essere preparato a ricevere un numero maggiore di cani con ferite da cinghiale.
Nel presente lavoro di tesi sono stati presi in considerazione 475 cani che sono stati feriti nelle due stagioni venatorie 2015/2016 e 2016/2017 nell’ambito territoriale fiorentino e senese.
La maggior parte dei casi ha riportato ferite al torace, agli arti posteriori, agli arti anteriori e all’addome.
E’ inoltre stato individuato il periodo in cui viene ferito il maggior numero di cani, che va dalla seconda metà di ottobre fino a tutto il mese di novembre.
E’ stato notato, attraverso lo studio effettuato, che con condizioni meteo sfavorevoli si ha un incremento delle ferite in proporzione al numero di cani liberati sul terreno e in rapporto alle uscite delle squadre.
Questo studio deve aiutare il proprietario a migliorare la sicurezza del suo ausiliario e il veterinario ad affrontare le urgenze in base alla stagione.

The purpose of the study was to evaluate the typical injuries caused by the bites of wild boars, to find in which period of the year there are the most injured dogs and to determine if the weather can influence the number of injuries.
In this way, it was possible to identify the period and the enviromental conditions in which the veterinary has to give the most attention and be ready to receive a bigger number of dogs with injuries caused by wild boars.
In this thesis we have considered 475 dogs that have been injured during the hunting seasons 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 in the areas of Florence and Siena.
Most of the dogs have suffered injuries to the chest, to the anterior limbs, to the posterior limbs and to the abdomen.
Moreover, the period with the most injured dogs has been identified as the one from the second half of october to the end of november.
We have nooticed, that with adverse weather conditions there in an increase of the injuries, in proportion to the number of employed dogs and in comparison to the number of the teams.
This study should help the owner to improve the safety of his auxiliary and the veterinary to face the urgencies on the basis of the season.
