Riassunto
Measuring the temperature on an accessible boundary it’s possible to determine the temperatures on an inaccessible surface of a wall, in this way al loads can be obtained. This class of problems fall under so-called inverse heat transfer problems (IHTP), which rely on measurements for the estimation of unknown thermal quantities.
This approach to evaluate the unknowns from the indirect measurement is more efficient when the direct measurement is not possible due to technical obstacles or high experimental cost. The nuclear power plant considered in this work is a 2nd generation typical PWR.
Matlab’s script based on finite volume method for reconstructing the bulk temperature from the temperature measured on the outer surface of a pipe is investigated.
For validating the results of the inverse method an explicit finite difference method which solves the one dimensional direct problem of heat conduction method is used. Finally, signals suitable as an input in assessment of fatigue analysis will be obtained.
