Riassunto
Integrated product-service solutions are promising business models to address increasingly demanding markets, specifically in maintenance operations of complex production systems. Enhancing maintenance efficiency by leveraging on data-driven strategies is an attractive opportunity to deliver high-value products and services to customers. However, implications resulting from moving toward this new business model should be evaluated with regard to the linking between service management, and distributed logistics and production. The project aim is to develop a simulation approach to assess system performance in the current and future maintenance service process of large industry-grade production printing OEMs. The results showed improved operational and service performance thanks to predictive strategy. The model value is also related to decision-making capabilities, resulting an effective tool for maintenance strategy decisions concerning resources capacity and inventory management.
