Riassunto
Universal concerns about degradation of ambient environmental conditions, stringent emission legislations, security of fuel supply, and global warming have motivated research of engines operating on alternative combustion concepts. Low-temperature combustion is advanced combustion for internal combustion engines, which has attracted global attention in recent years.This works illustrates the progress made in the new alternative combustion such as HCCI,PCCI,RCCI,SPCCI. These combustions have a low combustion temperature which leads to a small number of pollutants and low specific consumption. The paper reviews fundamental aspects of development of LTC engines and their evolution, historical background,result experimental activity.
