Riassunto
The subject of the thesis is the realization, in the frame of the PARSIFAL project, of a Landing Gear system in all its features for a particular and new aircraft configuration (PrandtlPlane) in order to allow the simulation of close-to-ground flight conditions and on-ground operations, specifically focused onto take-off analysis and performance. In particular, it has been used the Multi-Body Simulation (MBS) method to reach this objective in a more efficient means.

The research goals are reached by the use of an in-house toolbox, named PHALANX, built in the MATLAB/Simulink environment, with the aim of being applied on a generic aircraft configuration. Therefore, the model needs to be as generic as possible to satisfy the features of different airplane configurations.

Starting from studying the landing gear idealized model and the runway model thanks to the MBS approach, it is feasible to estimate the dynamic loads acting on the airframe. Furthermore, in order to obtain the taxiing space, it is necessary to simulate two different limit cases:

- One Engine Inoperative Take-Off
- Rejected Take-off.

In doing so, the Balanced Field Length (BFL) is calculated once defined the decisional speed.

Finally, it has been shown how the Multi-Body Simulation, without using the Equations Of Motion (EOMs), leads to a very close result to the case of using the EOMs. The MBS is a faster method, and, at the same time, it is effective, with the purpose of solving a fully non-linear problem; indeed, it represents a well-established method for studying aircraft ground dynamics.
