Riassunto
This thesis work has started during the project for the course Planning/Design and Development of Systems and Processes, at the University of Pisa and in particular at the University course in Management Engineering.
This thesis is focussed on investigating and studying the way in which the textual information can be manipulated and used as innovation tool with regard to the writing up of the QFD, or during a review phase of the project. The examined textual information related to the customer needs and to technical specification.
Basing the work on definitions proposed by the state of art, it was examined to set out how the requirements in various types of documents appear, that is, which are the indicators that identify the presence of the customer needs and of technical specifications. Moreover, according to the concept of solution-neutral thinking [Lu & Liu, 2011], we suggested a method for the abstraction of the customer needs, with the purpose to not restrict the Designer during the translation of the needs in technical features, in particular in the review phase of the QFD. Thanks to the use of statistics software and the creation of dedicated dictionaries, once the indicators on the customer needs and on the technical specifications were identified, it has also been possible to measure the presence of such elements in different kind of documents, from the customer review to the patents.
