Abstract: In the last several years, the contradiction between the business interests and the interests of other social subjects has impelled the CSR issues to the position prominent day by day; the expansion of the gap between the social expectations and the reality also has driven the CSR issue to be the urgent one. CSR is no longer an unrealistic theory but applied in the practice and bring the competitive advantages. In China, CSR issues are still new, but considering of its traditional economic model, it’s obliged to explore and find Chinese-characteristic CSR so as to compete in the global market.
The intention of this paper is to analyze the situation development of CSR in China and find the solution of its problems. In the first three chapters, I will give a brief introduction of its theory and definition, and we soon will find that CSR can bring the competitive advantage for corporation. After the theory base, I will analyze the development of CSR activities in the world and its driving forces. In the last three chapters, I will discuss more detailed CSR situation in China, the achievements, the problems, and analyze the reason which will be helpful for us find good solution to overcome them. Furthermore, this paper will give a case of Guangdong so as to point out that the SA8000 certification is not suitable for China now. Instead, China should have their own CSR standards.
