Riassunto
The additive manufacturing technology is developing very quickly, however this type of process is characterised by an extreme variability of production parameters which have a considerable influence on the mechanical characteristics and in particular on the fracture mechanics property, which depend on the microstructure of material.
The material compared is the AlSi10Mg producted by SLM and by continuous casting. After the mechanical characterization the measurement of Fatigue Crack Growth Rates was carried out following the ASTM E647-15, from this tests are derived the coefficents of Paris equation.
Using the results of FGC Tests, of Tensile Test and with the analysis of porosity it was possible to draw conclusions on the fatigue resistence of material.
Finally the SEM analysis have permit to investigate the differences of microstructure between additive material and the casting one. The observation of fracture surface have given an important information s on the mode of progress of the crack, and on the role of the precipitatedes.
