Riassunto
Modern mobile communication systems have to face the challenge of supporting both data and voice traffic with increasingly high speed.
3GPP LTE-Advanced, the evolution of LTE release 8, represents the next generation technology for wireless mobile networks.
The inter-cell interference problem is preventing these technologies from coming close to the theoretical rates for multi-cell networks. Effective and efficient solutions have to be developed in order to deal with inter-cell interference.
Coordinated Multi-Point transmission and reception (CoMP) refers to a wide range of techniques with the common denominator being the dynamic coordination of transmission and/or reception at multiple geographically separated sites.
In this work, we present a CoMP-based scheduling algorithm, which aims to reduce the interference perceived by the users’ terminals from neighboring cell sites, while maintaining low both the computational load and the communication overhead.
Simulation results show that the proposed solution enhances system performance and end-user service quality.
