L'elaborato presenta una traduzione integrale del poema di Aqhat, basata sull'ultima versione del testo ugaritico fornita da Dietrich, Loretz e Sanmartín. Prosegue con l'analisi degli aspetti principali del poema e ne sviscera le caratteristiche fondamentali e le informazioni che da esso si possono ricavare sulla cultura di Ugarit. Lo scopo primario è quello di capire (attraverso la comparazione con altri miti, l'analisi letteraria e la filologia) perché il componimento sia arrivato fino a noi e se vi sia un nucleo mitico arcaico su cui si sono sovrapposte altre tradizioni.

The dissertation displays a complete translation of the Aqhat poem, that is based on the last version of the ugaritic text by Dietrich, Loretz and Sanmartín. It goes on with the analisys of the main aspects of the poem and explores its fundamental features and the information that can be acquired about Ugarit's culture. The main goal is to understand (by comparison with other myths, literary analysis and filology) why this literary work has reached us and if there is an ancient mythical nucleus that other traditions have overlapped.
