In a grid environment, applications may require to access heterogeneous data resources ranging from structured data stored in RDBMS systems
to XML documents or to flat files stored across different sites. In this context, it would be advantageous to have a common interface to
access these different types of data resources and an automated way to interconnect tasks. One of the ways of addressing the data requirements
of Grid applications is through the use of data centric workflows.
OGSA-DAI is a middleware that addresses both the problems of data access and workflow management. The aim of this project is to provide a graphical user interface to OGSA-DAI, in order to design and
deploy workflows graphically. This will avoid to expose users to the
OGSA-DAI Client Toolkit Java API.
The first part of this report provides an introduction to data centric workflows and workflow manager, an overview about OGSA-DAI and
the related work. The second part focuses on the methodology used to develop the project, the design, the implementation and the results
obtained.
