Riassunto
The work in this thesis project deals principally with the isolation and structural characterization of new and known secondary metabolites from different selected plants collected in Ecuador.
The experimental plane includes the phytochemical study of plants belonging to different genus, selected for their chemotaxonomic, phylogenetic and traditional medicine features, including the isolation and characterization of actives constituents by using different chromatographic separation technique, NMR spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry.
The plants collected are: Siparuna thecaphora (Poepp. Et Endl.) A. DC (Monomiaceae), Bidens humilis (Kunth) (Asteraceae), Euphorbia laurifolia (Juss. ex Lam.) (Euphorbiaceae), Clinopodium tomentosum (Kunth) Harley (Lamiaceae) and Andromachia igniaria (Humb.& Bonpl) (Asteraceae).
None of these plants has been extensively studied before for its chemical composition.
For two species different test were carried out to analyses the specific biological activity of the samples.
