Riassunto
Enabling the interaction with blockchain platforms for robotic systems, at industrial level, might be challenging since portability, interoperability, scalability and security aspects shall be taken into account.
The blockchain is a novel technology with a wide range of potential applications, so its use in a robotic domain must be examined first, but, if proven profitable for specific cases, having defined ways to overcome possible challenges represents a clear advantage, particularly considering the novelty of the field.
A custom hardware solution, to aid robotic systems in dealing with trustless applications offering easily accessible blockchain-related functionalities, is proposed.
Trustless applications are a class of applications where specific benefits are granted without the need to trust singular or groups of agents involved in or watching over the application itself.
How applications concerning robots should or are turning trustless and how the blockchain is a good support in achieving trustlessness, will be shown.
