Riassunto
In the presentthesis,we focused on the upgrading of ethanol to get n-butanoland ethyl acetate over Cu-hydrotalcite derived mixed oxides catalysts.The obtained compounds can be considered as “bio-compounds” whether the employed ethanol comes from renewable sources like the fermentation of biomass. The central idea is to produce industrially valuable molecules, free from oil dependency. Catalytic experiments have been run adopting a continuous fixed bed reactor; however, we also made comparisons with batch reactorresults since theyrepresent the majority of the articles found in literature concerning this topic. Characterization analysis (NH3/CO2–TPD, H2–TPR, BET, SEM,XRD andRaman) have been performed on both fresh and spent catalysts.
